Rogers Cable 22 in Ottawa's Talk Ottawa program will be hosting another discussion on public transit in the city tonight, Tuesday January 6, at 7:00 p.m. Peter Raaymakers (yours truly) from TransitOttawa.ca will be on the panel, along with Sean McKenny from the Ottawa & District Labour Council and Innes Ward Councillor Rainer Bloess.
The show will discuss issues surrounding the decision of Federal Labour Minister Rona Ambrose on mandating a vote of members for the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 279, whether or not public transit should be declared an essential service, the solidarity within the ATU, and the effect that the strike has had on the city. And, of course, any issues callers would like to discuss, so tune in and feel free to call.

It would be interesting to know how many city councilors have been offering rides to ottawans who regularly rely on transit, and how many continue to drive into work alone.
