I couldn't agree more with his call (and that of the transportation task force before him) for a more arms-length transit commission. It's far easier to fire management after bad decisions than it is to get rid of a councillor. Add to that the council will still control the money. An independent commission does not get to vote on it's own budget like council does. The commission is also having to plan service around riders needs not their own need to get re-elected.Deannoreply@blogger.com
