How many plans has Ottawa gone through in the past few years? Because we've not been able to get our act together, we've not been able to get the funding.

Also, there is a huge difference in population. GO Transit carries 205,000 a day, TTC carries 1.5 million a day (that's more than the population of this entire region). That's why they get the funding.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7218149071529011844.post-70636456041653281042009-02-18T07:54:00.000-05:002009-02-18T07:54:00.000-05:00Oy!This...must needs be remedied.Oy!

This...must needs be remedied.Dwight Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14389833479219422837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7218149071529011844.post-84405805319366427382009-02-18T07:52:00.000-05:002009-02-18T07:52:00.000-05:00Here are the FCM tabulated major transit submissio...Here are the FCM tabulated major transit submissions, accounting for 93% of all submitted transit projects.

According to FCM, Ottawa distinguishes itself as having the smallest request for federal transit funding of all major municipalities. Ottawa's request of $0.2 billion needs to be compared to Brampton (half Ottawa's population) asking for $1.7 billion; Calgary is asking $2.0 billion,Edmonton is asking $2.2 billion and Toronto is asking for $2.5 billion.

Yes, we know how to ask big in Ottawa.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7218149071529011844.post-13109645962786843382009-02-17T20:58:00.000-05:002009-02-17T20:58:00.000-05:00if we don't push for the funding to make things be...if we don't push for the funding to make things better, we're not going to get any.Dwight Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14389833479219422837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7218149071529011844.post-30406227129206820842009-02-17T19:01:00.000-05:002009-02-17T19:01:00.000-05:00Hell, no.Toronto has been and always will be consi...Hell, no.

Toronto has been and always will be considered the Centre of the Universe.

Ottawa has usually been stuck to do things on its own.

If some kind of announcement comes out, I'd be really surprised.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07976882397180705933noreply@blogger.com
