The various proposals she's put forward are either ill-informed (i.e. using the non-existent "existing tunnel" downtown), or they don't address the real problem, such as adding more spaces to the Kanata Park'n'Ride. The problem isn't (just) that the parking lot could be bigger, it's that congestion in the downtown core is such that putting more vehicles on the road there isn't practical. That's why the tunnel is necessary -- because there isn't room for more buses on the surface.<br /><br />As for the transit union issue, during the strike it became apparent that the problem was the ATU 279 executive. I'm not convinced that this problem can be resolved unless the ATU 279 membership completely guts its executive and puts more reasonable people in place who are better representing their members.gordonhttp://gordon.dewis.canoreply@blogger.com
